When you have an aviation law related question to ask, who do you turn to for answers?
A pilot, a CFI, your POI? While they are all good starting points, they do not possess the inherent requirement to know the law and application thereof inside-out. As pilots, we needed to pass through two textbooks relating to law in our progression to ATPL. This is a stark contrast to the approximately 5000+ page Civil Aviation Regulations and Technical Standards.
This is not to say crew lack knowledge; it is simply not their job to know it all.
It is however our job to know.
